Delicious raw dessert

Today we share with you a recipe that won’t take more than 15 minutes of your time and you’ll end up making a delicious dessert. These tasty balls are perfect for your sweet tooth, and since they are raw and only with healthy ingredients, they will also make you feel full and energised.

What you need:

70gr of dates – Dates are delicious and healthy, and there are many reasons why we should include them in our diets. They are rich in selenium – antioxidant that improves our immunity, protects us from infections and prevents cardiovascular diseases. Dates give our brain and muscles the energy they need, as they are filled with phosphorus that is ‘food for brain’. By regularly consuming this fruit you will provide your body with desired levels of iron, fighting anemia, high blood pressure and cholesterol problems.

70gr of walnuts – Walnuts are rich in vitamins and minerals, but also in unsaturated fats that are good for our bodies. Just around 30gr of walnuts per day can significantly affect the quality of your health. They can also help you sleep better as they provide high content of melatonin, hormone that contributes to normal sleeping habits. Walnuts help keep the heart healthy, they have a positive effect on our brains and help fight stress. If you didn’t consider eating them before you certainly should from now on.

1 spoon of coconut flour – Coconut flour contains high amount of fibbers that are very healthy and reduce the level of cholesterol and absorption of sugar.

Preparation – Clean dates and grind them or cut them into very small pieces. Grind the walnuts as well. Mix them into one bowl and add coconut flour. After mixing it all well together, make balls out of that mixture. We decorated ours by rolling them into coconut flour and adding a hazelnut into the middle of each ball. If you have any other decoration ideas please feel free to share them with us. We’ll wait for your comment while we indulge in this healthy and delicious dessert.

  1. These look delicious. And since everything is better with chocolate, another decoration idea would be melting some coconut oil with some carob, cacao or dark chocolate.

    1. Great idea, a bit of chocolate is always a great idea 😉

  2. I didn’t know dates were rich in selenium. I’ve been looking out for selenium foods. Brazil nuts are also high in selenium. If you replaced the walnuts for brazil nuts, you would have a super selenium snack!
