Spring has arrived! Temperature will rise and the days are getting longer and prettier. In order to fully enjoy the beautiful days that are ahead of you, you will need a refreshing treat. I will share with you a simple recipe that will make the spring days so much sweeter.
1 RIPE AVOCADO – The positive properties of avocados are plentiful and I will mention only a few. Avocados do wonders for our eyes and regular consumption of this fruit reduces the risk of developing cataracts. Avocado contains about twenty vitamins, minerals, and many useful herbal compounds. Dietary fiber from avocados will help to regulate digestion, as well as to protect your digestive system. Large amounts of vitamin E, that will protect your body but also your skin, thanks to the antioxidant effect.
4 BANANAS (two ripe and two frozen) – Delicious and healthy, this fruit should always be on your menu. No wonder monkeys love it, as banana actually helps produce hormones of happiness! It is also rich in vitamin B6, and B vitamins help us fight PMS symptoms by reducing mood swings and water being held in our bodies. Don’t forget, bananas are also super rich in sodium.
1/4 CUP CACAO POWDER – Cocoa is very rich in magnesium and a regular consumption is a reliable weapon against stress. It’s a good source of antioxidants, which are responsible for the overall health of our body. Cocoa contains large amounts of iron, zinc, manganese and vitamin C and more than 300 chemical compounds that have a positive effect on health. Consumption of cocoa will improve memory and concentration, regulate blood pressure and reduce the risk of heart attack.
3 SOAKED DATES – Dates are delicious and healthy, and there are many reasons why we should include them in our diets. They are rich in selenium – antioxidant that improves our immunity, protects us from infections and prevents cardiovascular diseases. Dates give our brain and muscles the energy they need, as they are filled with phosphorus that is ‘food for brain’. By regularly consuming this fruit you will provide your body with desired levels of iron, fighting anemia, high blood pressure and cholesterol problems.
Place all the ingredients in a blender or food processor until smooth. Serve straight away or place in fridge to thicken.
